Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Springwater furniture made?
Springwater Woodcraft furniture is handcrafted in the idyllic countryside of Springwater Township, Ontario, Canada.  Our mailing address is Minesing which is a small farming town between Barrie and the beautiful sandy shores of southern Georgian Bay, but we're actually located much closer to the city of Barrie which is a large urban area with a population of 150,000 (the ninth-largest city in Ontario).
What is this furniture made from?
Our furniture is constructed from solid wood.  To be more specific, we predominantly use Eastern White Pine, a softwood grown in Canada and northeastern United States.  We also use some Red Pine and Baltic Birch plywood for select components.  We don't use any particle board or MDF whatsoever!
How much does this furniture cost?
In a word...it's affordable!  We try to keep our prices as low as we can.  Because we sell exclusively through our network of dealers, our pricing is only in wholesale and therefore we can't sell directly to end-users.  Our margins are kept at a bare minimum so that our dealers and end users can all enjoy our affordable, handcrafted furniture.
How much does shipping cost?
That really depends how far you are from Minesing, Ontario!  Our shipments are usually palletized meaning the items are wrapped in cardboard and placed (often interlocked with each other) on a pallet.  This is the safest and most economical way to ship.  Because we ship quite frequently, we also get preferred rates with some transport carriers using this method.

For Ontario and Quebec shipments, freight costs are quite reasonable.  For Atlantic Canada it's a bit higher but still very manageable.  For our dealers in Western Canada, shipping can be quite high especially to remote areas.  We are always happy to get a quote for shipping so please feel free to contact us prior to placing your order and we'll be happy to help out!
How do you get my furniture to me?
Normally we palletize our items and use a common carrier to ship (aka the big 18-wheel trucks you'd see on the highway--Day & Ross / Canada Cartage etc).  Dropshipping is also avaialble.
Once I place an order, how long does it take for my furniture to arrive?
What colours are available?
Please see our Finishes page for our current finish options.
Do you match paint colours?
Sorry, we can't match colours to specific colours (ie Benjamin Moore)--sometimes not even our own!  Different batches of paint are
