| Every piece of Springwater furniture is available in the finish of your choice. Our colour palette is inspired by old-fashioned milk paints, each with its own unique personality and charm. Actual colours will vary from the samples shown here. See bottom of page for a detailed explanation of each finish type. Sorry, custom colors are not available. Colour sample board is available to dealers upon request. Categories include Simple, Colour and Vintage. Click on thumbnails for descriptions. |
| Finish Notes: Stains & Colours - Includes any of our standard stains and colours above, inspired by finishes that could have been found on early Canadian furniture. Stains and colours feature a clear semi-gloss top coat that provides a rich, smooth finish. All finishes are environmentally friendly water-based products that won't yellow with age. Contrasting finish is optional on many colour items (see below). Simple - For a natural appearance, consider one of our ‘Simple’ finishes. ‘Classic Simple’ is an attractive Early American-inspired wood dye that seals the furniture while preserving its rustic aspect; there is no topcoat of any kind. ‘Naked’ finish leaves the bare wood fully exposed with no finish or pre- preparation applied. Either ‘Classic Simple’ or ‘Naked’ is suitable if aftermarket finishes will be applied. Vintage - Vintage finishes offer an added antiqued effect. Combinations of two colours can be requested to create your own unique Vintage look. Please note that a surcharge applies to Vintage finishes. Contrasting Finish Option: Also called Two-tone or Stained Top, this option gives a more sophisticated look. The 'body' on many of our pieces can be painted while the top / lid remains Stained with ClearCoat. This finish is standard on some pieces (eg. Small Hall Table #515, Candle Table #319, etc) and can't be done on some other pieces so please consult detail pages in our Products section or call us before ordering. There is no extra charge for this option. |
